Moving Along with the Times Challenge...

Wow, Christmas Eve already!
Sitting here with my rather LARGE glass of Baileys, having a go at some last minute challenges & cards!

The challenge over at MAWTT this week is a sketch with a theme of bears in it also. This one will run for 2 weeks over the Xmas period.

For my card I used the following:
Forever Friends Xmas die cuts; sugar coated card; Lasting Impressions paper, gems, snowflake punch & ribbon from my stash. I had made up the toppers on the Spellbinders dies a while back, but didn't know what to use them on, till now!

I have also added another card I made up from the sketch over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp- but this time I followed the sketch!!!

Again I used the stamped Magnolia image, cards& papers, Craftwork Cards sentiment & gems etc from my stash. I have also been experimenting with a paper distressing tool I brought a while ago-hope you like them.

Well hope you are all ready for the cheerful jolly man in the red suit to visit you all tonight- must remember to leave him out some mince pies & a glass of mulled wine( can't leave him any Baileys as I've just finished it off!!!)

Merry Christmas everyone....

Sunday Sketch & Stamp..

The sketch over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp was created by Barb. I have followed it almost! - I did leave out one part of it, as I couldn't find any papers in my stash to go with what I had already used - probably means it will be no good to enter the challenge! DOH!
Oh well never mind, I enjoyed playing along.
For the card I used the following items:

Card blank; ribbon; pearls; mirror card; Bazzill cards; freebie snowflake paper -all from my stash.
I also used :SU Whisper White card; Craftwork Cards sentiment; Magnolia stamp; snowflake punch. The image was water coloured & the snowballs had glitter glue added to them.

I love using this image, especially with all the snow we have had recently!
Poor Bella didn't know quite what to make of it, and wouldn't go out at first- but then her curiosity got the better of her! I'll post some piccies later.

Well Christmas is almost here - hope you are all ready & finished all your shopping- I have- now that's a first, as I normally still trawl around the shops on Christmas Eve!

I hope everyone has a good Christmas & New Year- thank you for spending the time over the past year to look at my blog & leave feedback- I do appreciate your comments.

Looking forward to the new year- Hopefully I will have a new job. I've also promised myself to blog more, enter more challenges & use up all the papers, card & stamps from my huge stash sitting here, before I buy anything else( I wonder how long that will last!)

Best wishes for Christmas & the New Year

I Made the Top Spot.....

Stamp With Us

I logged on this morning to a nice surprise.... I made the Top Spot this fortnight over a SWU. Thank you for saying my card was good enough to receive this award, as I know there are so many creative people out there.
Congrats to the ladies that made the DT request- can't wait to see your creations for some more inspiration at SWU.

Heavens, isn't this weather pants! I don't think its stopped raining all night. Even Bella wouldn't go out this morning- I had to get up at 5 as she want to go out- she barely poked her head through the opening of the patio door & did a 180 degree turn & went back upstairs to bed! Mind you it seems to have stopped a bit now, its still pretty grim though, and Bella's gone AWOL. Just the perfect sort of day to hole up in my sad room & create a few cards, or I suppose I should write some Xmas cards ready to send out!

Whatever you are doing, hope you have a good Sunday

The Secret Crafter Challenge

Thought I would enter these before it was too late for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week. The theme was Christmas trees, anywhere in your creation.
Here's mine- I made these using a die cut pack from Kanban & a set I got from Hobby crafts.

Products used:
Die cut images; papers & card from stash; oval Nestabilities; mirror card; Cuttlebug embossing folder; SU border punch; gems & glitter glue from stash; snowflake punch; SU stamp for card inserts; 3-d foam pads.
Something a little different for me, not to use stamped images -but I saw them & liked them as they were something a little different.

Hope you like,
Teresa x

Non Traditional Christmas Card....

The challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar this week is to create a non traditional Christmas card, by not using red & green.

I am struggling to get into the Xmas mood at the moment, so am sitting here with my second glass of Baileys! Mind you a few more glasses of these might help!LOL

YEAH!!!!!

Yeah!!!... I am back on line, after a week with no broadband connection. I have been going blog hop crazy as not been able to get on line all week!! The very nice BT engineer has just left after getting us back on line!
It has been good in one way, as I have been catching up with all the TV I don't normally see, as I'm up in the craft room in the evenings, but it meant I had 50 odd emails to plough through!
I suppose I could have put the time to good use & caught up with some card making, but I honestly couldn't be bothered- not the attitude I know, but hey ho! Also it has been quite a busy week with me starting my new temporary job, having to get up at 5 am to be on the road by 6.30 am to be at work be at work by 7/7.30 am- hard life isn't it!! I have to get up then to get hubby up for work , else he'll sleep on, and then we fight to see who gets in the bathroom first!

Thank you to the lovely crafters who popped over to Mum's new blog- she is over the moon that she has some followers- now all she has to do is to start uploading her piccies!
Well catch you later, as I have the housework to finish, as I had to put it on hold whilst the BT engineer was here.

Hope you all have a good weekend,
See you soon

At Last........

At last I have managed to get my Mum up & running with her own blog!!!!
She has been very resistant as she doesn't think she would have anything to keep her blog updated with or that her cards that she has made would be up to what she has seen on other blogs! She is so wrong, as her cards are great- all she needs is some encouragement. Maybe some kind crafters would help me out here & take a peek at her blog, once she loads some pictures, which I know she was going to do over the next couple of days.
She has recently retired and is now doing the things she would like to do- and with some persuasion from me, making cards & crafting more(sorry Dad, she's starting to take over the spare room like I do at home!LOL)
heres her blog...Angies Attic

Some good news on the job front..... I have a temp position as Catering Manager at Coulsdon College till the end of term at Xmas, with a view that if everything works out, that there could be a permanent position for me when the new term starts in Jan. Whoopee!!
I would like to give a big thanks to Sally who I have been working for at the Agency, for putting me forward for this job, and also my hubby for putting up with me, while I have been looking for another job. Also to all those people who have been encouraging me, not to give up.

Catch you later, as off to get a cuppa & watch a bit of Children In Need.

Boo to You....

Well Halloween is officially over in our house now, as just taken down all the decorations from the front porch. We had a record number of trick or treaters last night- some really cute ghosties & ghoulies, and some not so good ones!! LOL!
I love Halloween, just so I can decorate the porch, buy lots of sweets( I have an excuse to buy them for the trick or treaters, not just for me, honest!), and to make endless cards, that I really don't know what to do with afterwards! I'm just a big kid really!

I hope you all had a good Halloween, and enjoyed it as must as I did! Bella played her part well, being a black cat! We couldn't get her in till after 9pm - we were worried as there were fireworks going off around the road, but she came in when she was ready!

Catch you later...

Where oh where....

Where or where did Bella go????

I let Bella out a usual this morning & left the cat flap open for her to come in & out as she pleased and sat here in the craft room, sorry 'sad room' as my husband calls it. I knew she had come in for her breckies, but couldn't see her anywhere. Hubby had gone down to watch TV & make a cup of tea- and Bella had put herself to bed.......!!
That was until she got distracted by a small fly that flew too close to her and got eaten! She has no table manners!
Sorry the pictures aren't too good, but the curtains were still closed and I didn't put the light on so as not to wake her!!!! How sad am I????? I wouldn't mind but she always get in on my side of the bed- she already has her own dressing gown to sleep on, on my side of the bed!
The things we do for our pets, hey!!

Well gotta make some breakfast now, as hubby moaning that I don't feed him, so catch you later

Friday Sketchers Challenge 73...

There is a super sketch this week over at Friday Sketchers, by the very talented Beatrix, so I thought I would have a go with it. This week it is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp- with a $25 voucher for grabs to spend.

As soon a I say the sketch I know I would have to use my Magnolia stamp that hasn't seen the light of day yet since I brought it - and she's toooooo cute not to have been inked up!!

For the card, I used:
Magnolia stamp; Bo Bunny-'Delilah Here's 2 U' paper; Lasting Impressions paper from stash; Bazzill card; SU Whisper White card; brads, liquid pearls & flowers from stash; Charm, organza ribbon, lace & pearl accents from CUL.
I paper pieced her swimming costume & bows and added the liquid pearls. I also distressed the edges of the card.

Hope you like her- think I shall be using her a bit more!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend- all be it almost over! Where did that sunshine go that we had yesterday?? Its all grey & dismal outside- even Bella is not venturing out- I did catch her sneek back off to bed a while ago-pictures to follow....

Pumpkin and Aubergine......

I was feeling creative over the past week or so ..... and managed to use up practically all of the die cuts from the Halloween Pumpkin & Aubergine set!

Hope you like them... off to photo my card I did last night for the Friday Sketchers Challenge- my what's got into me- 2 posts in a day, must be coming down with something!!!

See you later,

Stamp With Us Challenge...

The challenge this week over at SWU is to create anything but a card! I also eventually managed to do last weeks sketch challenge, but too late to enter before Zoe got this weeks challenge up on the blog!!

Last weeks challenge sketch:

Elements on main panel were raised with foam pads & Old Olive card stamped with small poinsettia stamp and then highlighted with glitter glue.

Stamp With Us Challenge...

The challenge over at Stamp with Us last weekend was to create a project using a recipe of...

....NO patterned paper(killer!), 2 x ribbons, 2 x stamps

Brocade blue, Certainly celery & Whisper white card & ink pads; Fresh Cuts stamp set; Oval stamps; Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon & Certainly celery ribbon from the ribbon bundle offer last month.
I stamped the image again in the certainly celery and then cut out the leaves again & raised on sticky pads to add dimension to it. I also added some pearls from my stash as I thought it needed a little something else!

Hope you like it..

He only went & brought me my own copy of Twilight on DVD!!!!
I've read all the books, but still not seen the film- so now there's no excuse-crafting & job hunting maybe
taking a back seat today!! LOL

Still no news on the job front- not that I have been sitting on my laurels! - I have attended several interviews
& signed up to work with an Agency & registered with the Caterer on line, but still no joy!
Hopefully there is something out there for me! Might even retrain & take a plumbers course( although Hubby

Just a few more cards....

Just a few more cards here that I've made over the past couple of days...
I was inspired by Paula Pascual at the CUL birthday weekend, last weekend.

The cards were made using the Crate Paper- Lillian Collection Kit.
I also used: Cards from Craftwork Cards; SU Natural Ivory card stock; SU Kraft Taffeta ribbon; SU Old Olive grosgrain ribbon; ribbons, brads & pearl dots from stash; Sugar coated brads; Martha Stewart leaf punch & glitter glue.
I also used the negative parts of the dies, as the leftovers seemed too nice to throw away!

These are a little different for me- but I have wanted to have a go for ages, as I keep seeing these type of cards on various different blogs and love how they look.

Hope you like them..

SWU Challenge..

This week the challenge the SWU team have set is a sketch to follow.
Here is my card for this weeks challenge-

I have used the following items: Rose Red DS papers; Rose Red, Very Vanilla & Whisper white card stock; Fun & Fast Notes stamp set; water colour pencils & glitter glue.
The papers are quite dark so the sketch is hard to see- maybe I should have used more lighter papers with them- oh well too late now! Hope you like it anyway..

Don't forget to pop on over to the SWU blog site & take a look at the online classes- still not too late to sign up for these 2 weeks classes- the fun started last night with an on line chat session & challenge set by the lovely Monica, and continues today with another challenge . Each day for the next 2 weeks there will be either a challenge, on line chat or projects to make & upload onto the SWU Challenge site- but you have to be in to win it!!!

Will pop back later with some cards I made with a kit I got from Crafts U Love's birthday weekend- I was inspired by Paula Pascual, who was demonstrating, along with Kim Piggott in the shop at the time.

Hip hip hooray....

I have my car back, looking good as new!!

Well I actually got it back on Tuesday and had the hire car collected on Thursday. Unfortunately, I have to pay for damage to the alloy wheel on the hire car, as I damaged it when I was coming back from CUL last Saturday. I decided to take the back way back home via Roffey & was pushed off the road on one of the winding & narrow bits of road, ending up down a gully in the road!
I didn't even notice it until they did the walk around check that they do, when they take the car back- luckily its on my DH credit card!!

I had an interview for a job on Weds afternoon- still waiting to hear if I have got through to the next interview & a 'cook off'. That I 'm not looking forward to at all!
I am now officially unemployed- and the thought is scary, as I have never not had a job since I left college, many moons ago! I hope something comes along soon.

Just to remind you that the SWU on line challenges start tonight for the next fortnight- have you signed up yet?? If not- why not..... go on over to the blog site & take a look- you'll have a great time.

Tonight the launch party starts with live chat & challenges at 7.00pm- I can't make tonight as I'm going out on my leaving meal with some of my colleagues- but hope everyone that does join them tonight has a good time.

Well catch you later as have a huge great basketful of ironing to do!

Wot still no car.....

Can you believe that I still haven't got my car back from the garage! I took it over last Tues for the dent to be taken out & the re-spray and again they told me it wasn't ready- maybe this time tomorrow!!
I'm getting a little fed up with it now- how long does it take to spray a wheel arch, bumper, etc!
They told me Thurs that they had had trouble getting the correct colour match from Ford, they told me Friday the same & that the job wasn't finished & be dry in time- they told me today, that because they had had problems with the colour match that was why it had taken so long, and that they needed to polish it etc, before I could have it back, and that it should be ready Tuesday! Not definitely, but maybe!
Good job I'm not paying for the hire car I've had all week- I think the neighbour down the road will be a bit more careful before pulling out next time!

Not only this, but we had a leak in the utility room yesterday & had to pull all the plasterboard wall down between the downstairs shower room & pull out the cupboard against the wall, that ended up down the tip as it was rotten. I know this room was next on the list to redecorate, but we haven't finished the upstairs bathroom that we had to replace because we had a leak(again) in the shower- that went down to the kitchen, which we had to replace in March last year. I think I hate my house!!

Anyway, enough of my woes, and there are a few more of them too! Am getting ready to go to the SU Wheel class tonight over in Crawley - that should take my mind off things for a couple of hours anyway!

Catch you later,
Teresa xx

Just because...

Just because... I made another card last night, whilst sitting up till 1.30am waiting for Bella to come home!

I brought this Alota glass stamp awhile ago at one of the CUL events they had- Stampin Caz was doing the demo- and I just had to have this stamp- as you do!! LOL. However, its been sitting in my stamp box ever since! So I thought it was about time it saw the light of day & the Tilda stamp also.

I used water colour pencils to colour the images, stamped Tilda twice & 3-d the second one with my new 'Pinflair Glue Gel'. (seen it advertised so much that thought better have a go with some!)
Must admit it doesn't smell, like the others on the market, comes with its own syringe & dried very quickly!

The sentiment is from Alota, the flowers & brads are from my stash, the papers are Basic Grey & the leaf punch is from Martha Stewart

Hope you like her..

ABC Challenge - X is for...

The challenge this week over at ABC Challenge Blog is to put an X on your project. There is a sketch to go with this, but you can alter it, as long as the X is there..

For my card I used the following:
Stamps- Dragonfly Tilda, sentiment from SU -'Best Yet' set
Papers- SU- Old Olive, Whisper White & Ruby Red card, SU 'Summer Picnic' papers, Lasting Impressions paper-Celery Dots.
Misc - SU scalloped circle punch, Quickutz nesting circles, flowers, ribbon & brads from stash.

I love this little Tilda stamp and think she's so cute in whatever colour you choose. I 3-D the image and distressed the edges of the paper, as this Lasting Impressions paper is great for this.
I also decorated the inside with some of the left over papers.

Hope you like it... off to get washed & dressed to pop on over to CUL for their birthday weekend celebrations. I haven't booked to go on any of the classes either today or tomorrow( i might be able to sneak on one if they have any spaces left!!),but they have demos going on in the shop for you to watch.

See you later...

Back again with another card I have made for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, which this week was to create a project using ... spots & stripes.

Project Tuesday Challenge

The challenge this week over at Project Tuesday was to make a Ghiradelli Box.
Now for those of you who have not heard of Ghiradelli - its some the name of some extremely scrummy chocolates that we found on our trips to the USA. Each time we go, I stock up on them & try not to eat them all too quickly when we get back. I haven't seen any over here yet- but if anyone knows where to gets some from.....
Well anyway here's my boxes- I found the instructions over on the Splitcoasters site a while ago, but hadn't made any up( mainly as I didn't have any Ghiradellis to go in them!!), however I substituted 'After Eight' mints instead & it worked just as well!!
I actually made these up as a wedding favour sample- as something a bit different from the normal(but filled them with 3 After Eights!)- cheeky couple ate the chocs & sent the boxes back with the other samples!!
For these I used Bazzill Swiss Dots card, Woodware stamp set, rub-on Water colour pencils & silver gel pen, glossy accents to highlight the hearts & car.

Hope you like them.... off to eat the chocolates now I've posted the project!! LOL

Well I'm a bit like having to wait for a bus at the moment....... you stand waiting for one to come along long enough, and along comes two! I can't get motivated to keep up with all the challenges out there- and then I manage to do a few cards at once!! LOL.

I made these cards using the sketch on Papertake Weekly-Challenge 19- where there is a super prize of a Pink Petticoat download- now I'd love one of those!!
I have also used the sketch for the Lilli of the Valley Challenge 32 this week, which is to make a project with animals as the theme. I have made another card for this challenge as well & decorated the inside!

I'm not too good at this uploading malarkey, as I keep losing pictures whilst trying to move them around- tried 3 times to upload & move the pictures to where I wanted them- only to loose one each time!! So I've given up!

Anyway this is what I used on the cards:
Miss You Latte- Papertake sketch,SU Choc Chip & Whisper White card & Oval punches, Basic grey- Blush 6x6 paper pad, Martha Stewart paper punch, Glossy Accents and sticky pads to raise the images.

Dragon Card 1- Papertake sketch, LOTV 'Uguns the Dragon' die cuts, Lasting Impressions papers from stash, SU Whisper White card, grosgrain ribbon & rub-on from stash, Glossy accents

Dragon Card 2- LOTV ' Ugens the Dragon' die cuts, SU Whisper white & Certainly Celery card, Penny Black sentiment, rub-on from stash, sticky pads to raise butterflies.

Think that covers them all!

Catch you later...

Stamp With Us Challenge...

The challenge this week over at Stamp With Us was to create a children's card- I did struggle a bit with this one as I really only have this froggy set which I thought would be good to use. I do love this set - and thought the little bugs 'n' frogs needed wiggly eyes, just to add to their characters!
I also attempted to decorate the inside of the card!!

Here's what I used:
Card blank from stash; SU-Old Olive Designer Series paper; SU Froggy stamp set; SU Earth Elements watercolor crayons;SU punch;Whisper white card; wiggly eyes; glitter glue;WS Designs number template (I've had these in my stash for yonks, and keep forgetting to use them!)

Also want to say a big "Good Luck" to the Stamp With Us team for this weekend- they are holding the first SWU weekend retreat in Guildford- hope it goes well ladies & sorry I couldn't come along to support you- hopefully you'll hold another one. I know they have put a lot of effort into making this weekend a success & hear they have some great thins lined up for those people lucky enough to be going along! Hope it goes well!

Well catch you later as just got my Stampers 6 goodies & want to have a play!

Another card...

I eventually got round to making some flowerpot cards. I'd seen them on a couple of blogs whilst blog hopping and wanted to have a go myself. I found the instructions & tutorial on Andrea Walfords blog. Go on over and have a look- she has some fantastic ideas & projects.

For my attempts at her design, I used the following:
Bazzill card stock & Swiss Dots card; Cuttlebug embossing folder; SU Scallop edge punch & SU flower punch; Paper Shapers flower punch; Martha Stewart leaf punch; grosgrain ribbons from stash; My Minds Eye- Bloom & Grow flower die cuts; paper flowers, gems & pearl dots; Making Memories rub-ons.
They were quite fiddly to put together, but I think they were worth the effort, and will have a go at a few more, as quite pleased with them. I hope you like them..
