Papertake Weekly Sketch No 13

Good morning to one and all on this gloriously sunny Sunday morning. I thought I would enter this card for the Papertake Weekly Sketch challenge this week before I miss the deadline!
I have tweaked the sketch a little I think, as I had already made up the card yesterday, as I was itching to use my new Woodware craft card cards, and then was blog hopping to see what all the challenges were this week- when I saw the Papertake challenge.

For the card I used the following:
Stamps: Leere Aldrich-'Bathing Beauty', SU sentiment from the 'Best Yet' set and Hero Arts sentiment inside card is from the Correspondence set.
Card & papers : Woodware craft cards, Anna Griffin paper from stash, Bazzill card,SU Whisper White card.
Misc : Ribbon, glitter glue from stash & Kaisercraft Copper Pearls.

I'm soooo lovin' these card blanks and brought some more yesterday from CUL. I love this stamp too as she is great for so many occasions!

Funny isn't it although I'm not on call this weekend again- when there is a problem, or as in this case, one of the cooks goes off sick - It's still me that gets the calls & has to sort things out!! Good job the cat had me up at 6am this morning!
On that note, I do feel at little strange asking this, but I wondered if anyone out there in blogland, knows if there are any catering vacancies coming up in the next couple of months, as I will no longer have a job as of 30th June! I would be looking for something around the West Sussex area, within 20 miles or so of Horsham ( I know that's sounds picky!)

Well, I 'm off to the bathroom, to beautify myself ready to tackle the housework & tidy up my garden- have some new plants I brought the other day, so I need to get them in the garden soon, else that will be another lot that will end up in the recycling bin!! LOL!

Hope you all get to enjoy the lovely weather today!

A Birthday Gift...

The challenge last week at Stamp With Us was to create something for a birthday- well I made the mini cards, but didn't have anything to put them in until now!!
I decided to have a go at making some 10cm x 10cm cards, as I had seen some on Stamping Caz's blog & had brought some from Craftwork Cards. I had also just got a new set of SU stamps & wanted to try them out.

For the cards I used: Bazzill card stock in lemon, brown & white Swiss dots; SU summer sun & chocolate chip.
Stamps: SU- Flowers from the 'Always in My Thoughts' set; SU 'Yummy' set for the box lid; Hero Arts- Petite Wishes for inside the cards.
Misc: Timber brown Staz on ink; gems, yellow & brown grosgrain ribbon & envelopes, from my stash.

The box template I found on a blog site from EmmaLockley. I actually tweaked the measurements to suit what I needed- but the tutorial she has is so easy to follow. She also has some other great ideas & tutorials- so go over & take a look if you can.
My box will hold 4 cards & envelopes. I'm going to have a go at a note card holder next, but teak it to hold cards & envelopes instead- wish me luck! There is a great tutorial over on Dannies blog - She also has loads of great ideas for different things to make.

Hope you like them.. see you later

Friday Sketchers Challenge- No 48

Thought I would try to sneak this one in today before the Friday Sketchers challenge ends this week.
The sketch was created by DT member,Kristine, and there is a lovely Sarah Kay stamp & some metal charms up for grabs.

For my card for the challenge, I used the following:

Stamps-'Bubbles' stamped image from the Bubbles & Squeak set; Penny Black sentiment- 'Every day'
Papers- Imaginisce- For Peeps Sake, Drapin Daisies: Bo Bunny- Abby Road; SU textured card- Certainly Celery.
Misc- Bazzill polished pebbles-'Blue Eyes'; ribbons from stash; metal heart embellishment & Kaisercraft Pearls from CUL.

I stamped & 3-D the images with silicone glue & added a bit of glossy accents to 'Bubbles' tummy heart & nose. The stitching is from a pack of Doodlebug-Sew Easy rub ons I found in my stash & had forgotten about!

As you can see, I also decorated the inside!!

Well, hope you like it, as I'm off to get ready for work now- need to be at a supermarket that will remain nameless to get goodies for a buffet lunch I have to do at work today- no rest for the wicked they say!

Stamp With Us Colour Challenge...

The challenge this week over at Stamp With Us is a colour challenge- in my favourite theme of chocolate!
Here's my attempt at the challenge. I made a different card for a change, after seeing the idea on the Splitcoasters blogsite.

For my card I used the following:
Chocolate Chip & Whisper white card stock, Chocolate Chip Designer papers, brown grosgrain & gems from my stash, Timber brown Staz on ink pad, Sale- a- bration Scroll stamp from 'Yummy' set, Hero arts-'Sending Love' & Penny Black- Every day stamps, SU round tab punch.
Sorry the pictures haven't come out too well, so you can't see the colours of the papers properly, but you get the idea of what they look like.

I would also like to say a big" Thank you" to those ladies- you know who you are- that let me have some of their SU papers so that I could enter the challenge this week, as at the moment I do not have any of this colour set yet!

Well up to bed now, as its taken me most of the evening to make this & get it on my blog- hope you like it anyway..

I'm on a roll....

Here's another card I made from the Bubble & Squeak decoupage kit- and I actually partly decorated the inside!
For this card I used Imaginisce-For Peeps sake, Drapin' Daisies paper, Bazzill Polished Pebbles in "Blue Eyes", organza ribbons from stash, Bazzill card stock & white flower embossed Bazzill card. The image was 3-d with silicone glue, as were the butterflies & flower on the ribbon. I also used glossy accents on the flower centers, bear & butterfly bodies - although you can't see this too well on the picture.
I'm not sure if the pearl brads were too much, or maybe too big?
Anyway, too late now!

Oh well- off to bed, as its 11.30 pm & I've got to be up in the morning for work!
Catch you later..

Daisy & Dandelion Challenge..

The challenge over at the Daisy & Dandelion Challenge was "With Love..."
For my card I used the Bubble & Squeak decoupage kit with SU punch & sentiment from the "Yummy" Sale- a- bration mini catalogue. I used paper from the kit & Bazzill card stock, SU Whisper White card stock, buttons from stash, Kaisercraft Basics Pearl dots. I also used glossy accents on the bottle, glass, parasol & bears nose, tummy & pads on feet (although you can't see this too well in the picture!).
I thought this one would be ideal for a male card- as like many others, I struggle to make male themed cards!
Hope you like him...

Forever Friends..

The Forever Friends challenge this week was a belated Easter challenge- hopefully I can put these cards in for it.
I did put them on my blog last week, so don't know if they will qualify- here's hoping anyway!!!
I decoupaged the designs from the Easter kit with silicone glue, and used papers from the kit & my stash, along with ribbons, quickutz dies, Bazzill card, cuttlebug embossing plate, cards from stash & Craftwork Cards & Creative Memories oval cutting system that I've had for years & forgotten that I had until recently!

I love the Easter bunny with his basket full of little chicks- they are sooo cute!!
Well back to play- I'm still making up cards from the Bubbles & Squeak decoupage kit, which I love also...
I nearly got the Candyfloss & Marshmallow one today also- but ended up getting the new Papermania "Stamping for Him "set which I am itching to use, as I can use the golfer for my Father-in-laws birthday coming up soon.
So many things to do...so little time....

Where oh where....

Whoops lost the award again- can someone out there tell me how to put them & keep these on my blog.
Think must have blog goblins on my blog - one minute they're there, then the next they're gone!! Did try to get it back again tonight, but to no avail.
So sorry to the ladies I nominated, but you'll have to go over to Mrs Wonka's to see what your -"You're blog makes me smile" award should look like- anyway its a good excuse to go & take a look at her super blog!
Look forward to hearing from someone about my problem soon!!!

I Got an Award!!

<span class=

The lovely Mrs Wonka gave me this award today and I'm really chuffed. -It's cheered me up as feeling sorry for myself at the moment! Why don't you go over to her blog and see the lovely things she creates - she is also part of the Stamp With Us team. I would like to send it back to her also, as her blog makes me smile, but I have to pass it onto 5 other people who do not have this( I hope!)

So in time honoured tradition I would like to pass this award on also to the following talented ladies -

Caz

Mumur

Claudia Rosa

Heidi

Rach

Pop over to their blogs & see all the wonderful creations they make. There are loads of other people I would love to give the award to also, but it would take too long to try to send it to everyone out there in crafting blogland- as everyone deserves to get this award.

Daisy & Dandelion Challenge No 5

Here's my first attempt at the Daisy & Dandelion Challenge. I love the stamps & have just brought the Bubbles 'n' Squeak Decoupage kit- perfect to try out for the challenge this week!
I have used ribbon, paper, paper flowers & button from my stash; sugar coated brads from Doodlebug & rub on sentiment. I have used Glossy Accents on the nose, paws & tummy patch, although I don't think you can see it that well.

I did make another card at the same time from the kit, using papers & ribbon from my stash & dotty paper from the decoupage kit- I thinks she's quite sweet with her dotty flower!

Well back to the TV to catch up with all the
recorded programmes we have got to look at!
Will try to put some photos from our weekend away last weekend to Brugge on my blog. We had a super weekend, weather wasn't too wonderful, but the scenery was great.

Anyway, catch you later, enjoy the rest of your Easter weekend

Stamp With Us 1st Challenge...

Here's my card for the new SU challenge blog Stamp With Us. The challenge finishes Sat evening, so I am just in time with this card.
I have used Mellow Moss & More Mustard card, Haiku paper set, velvet ribbon, button & gems for bling from my stash & SU flower punch. The sentiment is from the Spring Solitude set.
I'm quite pleased with it as I love these colours & the patterned paper & I'm not very good with simple designs.
I'm looking forward to their challenges as I'm becoming a convert to the SU products, and am starting to get a collection of products, but not wanting to use some of the papers!

Anyway, catch you later as its way past my bedtime now and I need all the beauty sleep I can get these days. LOL!!!

A Little Yummy...

I made a gift box using my SU stamps for something other than cards- the box was off the Splitcoaststampers site. It was one made by a very talented lady called Beate Johns & called a One sheet Box- cause all you need is one sheet of paper or card- oh, and some stamped images & ribbon!

I have wanted to make one of these for a while, but couldn't be bothered to do it! Anyway, I had a go & it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, once I read the instructions properly-something I don't normally do, as I tend to read them as I'm doing the project, then wonder why it doesn't make sense or turns out wrong!

Anyway, once made, I wondered what I was going to do with it, then saw a brill idea over on Justine's blog- where she had made up some Easter gifts. So I made up a little bag of choccy eggs to put inside, using my SU set & new Classic Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities to finish it off.
Now who to give it too....

Teresa xx

Hurrah! Hurrah! At last I've finished...

Well, at last I've finished the wedding invites I was asked to do for a colleague at work & she collected them this week!! I'm so glad that they're out the way now- I don't want to see satin ribbon for a while!! I hope she liked them, she seemed pleased with them- but you're not really sure if someone does like what you have done, when they say they do like what you have done!!
Anyway, now I can get back to some card making again- I did do a sneaky couple of cards to keep me sane whilst making the invites though!

These were made from the Forever Friends Family Relations & Easter Surprise Decoupage Kits from CUL.
I also used card blanks & Totally Tropical dots from Craftwork Cards, card, ribbons & paper from my stash, Cuttlebug embossing folders, Quickutz scroll die, glitter glue & SU paper punch.

Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry & the 3D is jumping out at you!

Right, off to look at all those challenges I've been missing out on doing!!!

See you later..
