Death & Denial.......

We went out last night to Foxbridge golf club - where there was a Murder Mystery evening planned. I must admit I wasn't really looking forward to going, however the evening was great. We had a super 3 course meal, in between each course we had a company of actors who were acting out a play, throughout which you had to guess who carried out the murder , pick up any clues & guess where the jewels were hidden. There was a competition to see who guessed correctly & for the best limerick.
Our team managed to guess the correct murderer & some of the clues- so we got a certificate & bottle of wine! One of the actors had only been part of the play since monday, kept forgetting his lines & making some up as he went, which added to the evening & made it funnier! Everyone had a great evening - maybe will have to do something like this for the neighbours meal I am supposed to be arranging for us- although don't know where we could do something like this, as I won't get everyone around my dining room table!! Oh well, have to put my thinking cap back on again.

A Couple of Cards..

Just taking some time out from the invitation making to make a couple of birthday cards for friends this week, who spookily both have the same birthday date as me!!.

The first one is for a colleague at work who is off on a cruise for her 50th birthday- lucky devil!
For this one I based it on the sketch from last week at Friday Sketchers by Mumur- I used my stamped & water coloured Tilda with Rose again (love this stamp!!!); embossed & distressed Core'dinations card stock; Basic Grey, Hippie paper from the Romani collection; Quickutz scroll die cuts on sugar coated Bazzill card stock; lace & rub on sentiment from my stash; SU flower punch for flower. I also for the first time put some decoration on the inside of the card!

For the second card for my best friend- I used a diamond fold card for a change from my usual square cards; Leere Aldrich stamp-Bathing beauty & Sentiments set B for the slippers; Hero Arts stamps for the sentiments; Anna Griffin paper(Ag877); silver mirror card and gems & glitter glue.
The image has been stamped & water coloured twice and then 3D with foam pads. The bubbles were glitter glued to add depth & lots of gems added for bling!!
I love that little poodle in the bath with her- its just sooo cute!!
Well must fly, am on call this weekend, so sitting waiting for any calls from the weekend staff- still have to get in the bathroom & get ready just in case have to go out to cover!

Take care, Teresa xx

A Challenge & Update...

Well did manage to do two challenges for this card that I made at the weekend - but as I didn't get around to putting it on my blog till today it now only just still counts for one challenge.. doh!!
I will try to get it in quick for the Friday Sketchers Challenge, which this week was a great sketch by Mumur from France, and is sponsored by The Cutting Cafe- go check it out while you still can.
For the card I used: Magnolia Tilda with Rose; papers from my stash; Core'dinations card stock which was embossed with Cuttlebug Scroll folder& distressed( ABC Challenge last week that missed!); Quickutz Scroll die; SU flower punch; lace & buttons from my stash; rub-on sentiment.
I quite like this sketch and am going to have a go at a few more cards using it.

Also thought would update the progress on the wedding invitation making- have managed to get all the outer envelopes made, plus few spare- have just got to make up the sentiment for the day & evening invite & put on the front with the rose. Now waiting for the printer to send out the proofs to show the girl from work & then go ahead & make all the inserts up- not much left to do!!!!!
Am starting to get panicky and hope I will get them finished by end of the month for her to send out- then can relax until have to make the place cards and anything else she needs.

Oh well gotta go as got to get ready for work & try to get the cat in- have renamed her Dora the Explorer- as she goes out in the mornings & as soon as I get home from work, and you don't see her for ages- she keeps popping back to check we are still here, use her dirt tray or have a bite to eat before going off again. Favourite thing to do at the moment is to climb on top of the patio heater( that has never been used in the 5 years or so that have had it!!), climb onto the fence then up onto the garage roof- then she can't get down!! I even got the ladders out the other day to help her down, but she was having none of it, so I left her to it and she eventually worked out how to get down by herself!
Speak to you later..

Another Card..

I have managed to get another card made this afternoon, and it hopefully covers 2 challenges-(said I would try to do as many challenges as I could this weekend before I start the invitations!).
This one covers Papertake Weekly Challenge- Dawny's Sketch *9 and the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge * 21 which had to include some form of transport.

Here I have used my new Little Claire Designs stamp- Love Bugs- this was water coloured & the windscreen & tyres had glossy accents on them . I also used Core'dinations card stock-sanded around the edges; Provocraft lime scribble flower paper; card stock , brads & ribbon from stash; rub-on from Making Memories.
Hope you like- I'm still practicing with the highlighting on the images!

Catch you later..
