ABC Challenge-C is for...

This weeks ABC challenge is C is for... child's card.
I made a couple of simple cards up with some stamped images I have had for a while.
I thought I had better start using up some of the odds & ends I have sitting around in the 'sad room'!!

The images have been water coloured & shimmer water coloured; the fish jar has been coated with glossy accents & raised on foam pads. The boots have been raised on foam pads also.

The stamp is Francoise Reed's- Big Catch; papers are Paperfever-'Luv Bugs'; Swiss Dots Bazzill card, Bazzill Bling; other papers & ribbon from stash; coloured brads; sentiments from Craftwork Cards and 'Birthday' Cuttlebug embossing sleeve used also.

I'm going to try to do as many challenges as I can this weekend as I have GOT to concentrate on making these wedding invitations up by the end of March for the girl at work. She is getting married in June & also wants me to make up the name place cards, favour boxes & possibly menu holders & table plan!! I have everything I need now to start the invites, apart from the printed insert, which I am going to get done professionally by a printer- I'm not going to risk doing them on our printer as the quality is not good enough for something so important!!

I hope it's going to be worth all the hard work- I made up 8 different samples for her to look at, hoping she would choose the easiest- Ha!  She chose the most time consuming one! That'll teach me to give so much of a choice another time (if there is another time!!).
Anyway, might have time to make up another card, before its time to hit the pillow!
Take care.. Teresa xx

Mojo Monday -Week 75 Challenge

There is a fabulous sketch challenge over at Mojo Monday Sketch Blog this week.
For my card I used: Bo Bunny's Sweetie Pie Swoon paper; SU paper- Haiku; Wrapped Wishes dots from Craftwork cards; Leere Aldrich stamp-Coffee Girls & Sentiments 'B' set; SU flower punch, Bazzill card stocks; SU border punch & button from stash. The image was water coloured with pencils & shimmer paints.

I shouldn't be doing any cards up or surfing other blogs for inspiration, as I am supposed to be making up 80 wedding invitations that I have been commissioned to make by a work colleague. I need to be in the right frame of mind to start them- I have most of the ingredients to put them together- I don't know if that counts as starting them!LOL!

Monday 23 February 2009

Although I put these on my blog yesterday, I thought I might enter these in the My Time to Craft Challenge before it was too late, as there is still a day to go. Cheeky I know, but hey! Details on what was used are further down the blog, as I'm not going through that all over again!

Chocolate and Cakes....

Some of the best things in life have to be chocolate & cakes( preferably chocolaty & creamy) Surely!!

These are some cards that started out from the recent chocolate/valentine themed challenges, but never got as far as being entered into any!!

For this one I used my new Leere Aldrich stamp from Stampavie, called 'Coffee Girls' & sentiment from her 'Sentiments B' set, both brought at Craftsulove .
The background was stamped in brown with Stampendous stamp-'Friend Wave'. I added a tulle bow , heart embellishment & gems, also from CUL. The card was from Craftwork Cards. I'm not quite sure if I like the background or not..

These were made with 9.5 cm square cards from Craftwork Cards; downloaded papers from Papercrafting Inspirations magazine; Magnolia Cupcake stamp; Heros Arts & Alota sentiments; Prima flowers & organza ribbon from my stash & chocolate/marshmallow dots from Craftwork Cards.

These were made, again with the paper download from Papercraft Inspirations; Tilda stamps from CUL; sentiment from Hero Arts; flower & button from my stash; deckled backing square & 12cm square card are from Craftwork Cards;  other card is from stash with glossy accents on flowers & cats nose!

For this card I used, the downloaded papers again; sentiment & Dots from Craftwork Cards; Alota Cupcake stamp & Tilda stamp- both from CUL; other papers & card from my stash. I used glossy accents on top of the sweeties & glitter on the cake hearts.

All of  the images were coloured with water colours pencils & shimmer water colour paints- I am building up to trying out some Copics pens that everyone seems to be using now- but as I spent out on the Wild Card cartridge for my Cricut today, I think I will have to make do with the water colour pencils for a while!

I hope you like them..

A Big Thank you...

I would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely ladies that braved the miserable weather last night to come to my SU Party. A big thanks to Natalie who did the demo. I hope everyone had a nice time - I know you all ordered some goodies!!

Here is the card we made in the evening:
We used the Botanical Blooms & Congratulations from the Sale -a-Bration catalogue; Bold Brights Watercolor Wonder Crayons; Whisper white & Lovely Lilac card( I think) & Scalloped Edge punch.
It was nice that there was a mix of seasoned crafters & novices, and everyone went home with a completely different card!

( I really only did have mugs of tea last night -but you wouldn't think so to look at the not so straight sentiment on my card!!)

Bella enjoyed all the attention- sorry to the ladies who may have a few claw marks today! You know who you are! LOL. (Natalie she has forgiven you- and is none the worse!!). I think she found it boring today only having us to play with!

Thanks again to you all..

Friday Sketchers Challenge- No 37

This weeks challenge sketch over at Friday Sketchers is by Carole. It is a nice simple one this week, and is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, who are offering a $50 gift certificate for the winning project.
For my card I used the following:
Alota cupcake stamp; Valentine Tilda stamp; water colour pencils;Provocraft Scribble Floral paper; Craftwork Cards dotty paper & sentiment; brown Bazzill sugar coated card stock; Core'inations card stock flowers; gems & diamond glaze on the hearts on the cupcake.
I love this little Tilda at the moment as she sits quite nicely on the cupcake- have got the new Magnolia cupcake, but think she looks better on this one! Don't know what you think...

I also used: Provocraft Scribble Floral paper; Core'dinations card stock that I sanded; Friskas border punch; Craftwork Cards candy dots and sentiment; gems; flower punch and the heart was raised on a wire & foam pads.

I'm quite pleased with how she turned out ! I'm loving this cupcake stamp & have been experimenting with all sorts of different cupcakes-even chocolate ones!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Couldn't believe my eyes when I
got up yesterday morning and saw all that snow! Most of the schools around here were closed- so all the children down
our road had a great time playing in the snow & making snowmen!
Not only did it snow heavily Monday, but we had more again last night!
Today however it has been disappearing slowly, so there isn't much left down our road- only the snowmen still standing!

Here's a picture of the back garden.

It wasn't much fun trying to get to work - although the roads were deserted!
Had to go in a we had a buffets to do & had to make sure all the catering teams got in so that the residents didn't go without lunches!

Bella decided that she did like the snow- thought I would let her out the front when I loaded the car for work this morning, thinking she would put a paw out in the cold snow & turn tail back indoors- did she heck! LOL! Spent the next 15 mins trying to get her in again- she kept darting under my car, under my husbands & next doors! She eventually fell for the rattling of the kitty treat bag- my husband closed in one way, me the other & we managed to pick her up & bring her in. She is desperate to go outside but hasn't been allowed yet as we have only just had her spade & she had another poorly paw again! Back to the vets again tomorrow to make sure its healed.
Well I wonder what tonight will bring!
Hope everyone gets to enjoy the snow, but takes care.
