One of My Sandown Craft Show Purchases....

I went to the Sandown Craft show at the weekend and brought a few goodies -mainly at the Craftworks Cards stall!!
Here are the cards I made from the new Smirk collection from Trimcraft - I love them as they are fun & quirky! I brought 2 of the decoupage kits & a Shaker Stickers pack. There are 4 decoupage sheets in each pack to make 4 cards.

Here's what I came up with....

The cards are 12cm x 12cm scallop cards from Craftwork Cards. I also used papers & embellishments from my stash- although you get papers in the kits. I used silicone glue to 3-D the images and added rub-on sentiments.
Hope you like them...

Two Challenges for One....

This is a first for me- think I have managed to do two challenges in one!!

This week over at the Papertake Weekly Challenge, the challenge is to use 3 different shapes on your card or project- you can count the base card as one shape if you are struggling to get 3 different shapes though!
The challenge over at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is a 1,2,3 recipe -
To use 1x image,2x papers, 3x embellishments. Think I have managed to do this on my card!

Here's my card for the challenge- using my new Magnolia stamp -Tilda with a rose - I do love this stamp as it is can be used for any occasion.

For the card I used: Tilda stamp; watercolour pencils & shimmer watercolour paints; Paper Adventures- Prairie Sunset Plaid paper; Inkadinkadoo clear stamps-Its a Party; Maya Road chipboard scroll, painted & coated with glossy accents; Cuttlebug dotty border embossing folder; Core'dinations die cut heart; Craftwork Cards scallop card.

Hope you like it,

New Stamps!!

Here's a couple of cards made with my new Magnolia purchases from Craftsulove.

For these cards I used papers from my stash, Cuttlebug embossing folders, assorted Prima flowers that I brought in America, velvet ribbon, brads/buttons  & gems

I love this new Tilda with a rose stamp. I blame Stamping Caz who was doing a demo at CUL for making me buy this one (and some other bits n bobs!!)
With this card I actually paper pieced the image, using Quickstripz paper from Quickutz ,as it already had a sticky backing to it & made it easier to use. I also used Sledding Arctic Chill paper from Fancy Pants Designs, velvet ribbon, gems, rub-on saying & Friskars border punch(cannot remember name of it though). Hope you like them..

Forever Friends..

I treated myself to one of the FF 'Party Bag' Decoupage Packs (Celebrations) at Xmas from Craftsulove and these are the cards I made from it. I used some of my own papers as well as the ones in the kit, some glitter glue, sugar coated brads, gems & ribbons. The kits are good value as you can make at least 6 cards from the pack for £2.99
I quite enjoy decoupage for a change- although I usually end up in a bit of a mess with the silicone glue!!

ABC Challenge- V is for....

The first challenge for the new year over at ABC Challenge is - V is for... violet!
Here is my card for the challenge- and I've done something different this time by using decoupage on my card. I had a go at highlighting the areas on the image with a white pen, as this is something that I'm not too good at, but sometimes the images look better with these.
For the card I used: Pollycraft free download; craftwork cards daisy die cuts; Bazzill sugar coated brads; rub-on sentiment; backing paper from stash; Doodlebug?ribbon from stash.
Hope it looks ok..

If at first you don't succeed, try & try again- then give up!!
Well I tried & I tried, to get my award from the lovely Mrs Wonka up, but to no avail. At least I can go and look at what it would look like on my blog, over at her blog. LOL!!
Perhaps some nice person could tell me what I keep doing wrong!

Thursday 1 January 2009

Thought you might like to see what we got up to at Craftsulove  before Xmas. Went on an evening class with Stamping Caz & made these stamped candles in the class. When I got home I found the idea for the gift bags in a box on the Splitcoasters blog. I had to adjust the sizes for the taller candle, but I was quite pleased with how they turned out!!
Papers are from selection of Bazzill card & Basic Grey Wassail papers with Quickutz dies, Friskars border cutter, velvet ribbon & ribbon from stash.

These were some cards I made for my Niece & God-daughters. I can't remember who the stickers are by now as there were some I had in my stash. I mounted them onto card & cut around & put onto sticky pads to add depth, the paper is Doodlebug & Bazzill card. Hope you like them..

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year to one and all! Best wishes for a happy & prosperous 2009 to everyone.
I hope you all had a good Christmas & that Santa delivered everything that you all wanted!
I think I must have been a bad/naughty crafter this year as Santa didn't leave me any crafting goodies this year in my stocking!! LOL. My letter must have got lost in the post!
I did however get a Nintendo DS with the Brain Training game (and boy do I need the brain training!!!).Have been trying to keep up with it every day- especially as my brain score at the moment is for a 64 year old!!! Hubby was better at 68years! LOL- My excuse is that I'm suffering with a cold at the moment & my brain is mushy!
Hubby got Mario Go-Karting game & spare wheel for his Wii. We had to keep playing until I scored better than last place - all of 14 games!!! ( I still only managed to get to 8th place!!!) Bella Blue got some new toys from us & Granny Goodman!! Hubby said he couldn't believe that my mum brought  her some presents as well! She's one spoilt kitty!!

I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up to date with my blogging or keeping up with any challenges- been busy with work & not had many creative juices flowing lately!
However my New Years Resolutions are to try to keep up with these, keep my sad room tidy (if that could ever happen!!) and use up more of the papers  & stash I have hoarded over the years, before buying more- easier said than done I fear!!!
A couple of Xmas pictures to share with you-

Bella helping to unwrap presents! Sorry the picture isn't very good- well it was an action shot!Hubby was given a Kung Fu Fighter by my sister. When you switched it on it cried out & kicked its leg out - much to the fascination of Bella!! It was sound activated & we had to turn it off in the end as it was driving us all potty!
Catch up with you later as I am going to  try to keep up with my resolutions - shall it be tidy my sad room -oops sorry my craft room- or make some cards? I think I know what it won't be !!
